wandering the seven wastes
every step we take comes with trouble
albatross and plastic seas
a hurricane of incandescent color
we mistake the moon for an eye
and our years go by
then it happened
all in the blink of an eye
all the past it comes to you in a fever
somewhere in the sky corsairs flutter
turn around and face the tracks that follow
and carry us away from this pain
caught between the ends of the world (turn around)
pyramids and promises of power
when the costume wears away all that's left are bones and a shimmer
It's why we're tasked to investigate why our skulls resemble other skulls
but we mistook the moon for a smile
that bears no teeth but grins our perdition
